Died: August 24, 1994 Near Sioux Center, Iowa

Kimberly Hulshof, 16, was killed Wed. Aug. 24, as a result of injuries received in a car-train accident near Sioux Center. Funeral services were at Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center on Friday, August 26, the Rev. Carl Boersma officiating. Burial was at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center.

Kimberly was born on Feb. 19, 1978, in Sioux Center, to Ron and Conni Hulshof in Sioux Center. She attended school here and participated in music at school, and worked at the Sioux Center Nursing Home as a junior volunteer.

Survivors include her parents, her sister, Aftin, her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Hulshof of Sioux Center, and her maternal grandfather, Harvey De Raad, of Rock Valley. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Eva De Raad.

Casket bearers at the funeral were Don Winterfeld, Doug Winterfeld, Dave Winterfeld, Dan Winterfeld, Claudia Winterfeld Chari De Ruyter, Jason Beukelman and Colen Moerman.

Special music was provided by soloist Sara Winterfeld, who sang Wind Beneath My Wings. In the funeral bulletin, the caption below this song read; "In gratitude for making us so proud, and being everything anyone would want in a daughter. You were and always will be my "Wind Beneath My Wings."

The Sioux Center Girls Ensemble sang I'm Goin' Up Yonder. The director was Norm Grimm.

Congregational hymns were Children of the Heavenly Father at the beginning of the service,and then at the close, Under His Wings. Pianist was Shari Brouwer.
