Charles Huitink, 38, farmer southeast of Orange City died in Grossman Hospital Thursday of injuries suffered in an auto-truck collision on a gravel road intersection about 2 1/2 miles southwest of Orange City.
Sheriff Harry Dykstra and Highway Patrolman George Dunn said Huitink's auto collided with a milk truck driven by J. Clark, Sioux City. Clark was released from the hospital after treatment of cuts and bruises.
Huitink, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerrit Huitink, Orange City, also is survived by his wife and a child a few months old.
Charles Huitink was born on October 16, 1912, the son of Gt. Huitink of O. C. He was the first son of a family of 8 children, all living but one son who died in infancy. Charles was born and reared on a farm near Orange City. They were the parents of 1 daughter, Carold Faye, an infant of 4 months. Surviving besides his widow and child are his parents, 2 brothers and 4 sisters; Dorothy (Mrs. Brant Bruxvoort) of Sheldon; Tracy at home; Henry of O.C.; Hendrine (Mrs. Gt. Punt) of Sioux Center; Gertrude (Mrs. Louis Niessink) of Florence, AZ; and Clarence of Orange City.
Funeral services were held at the home of the departed on Monday afternoon and in the First Reformed Church with Rev. H. Colenbrander officiating. Interment was made in West Lawn Cemetery of Orange City.
