Minnie M. Eilks, 87, of Hawarden, died Wednesday, August 21, 1985, at her residence in Hawarden.
Services were at 10:30 a.m, Friday in Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawarden. Rev. Dwight Reistorf officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery. A prayer service was held Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the Dow Funeral Home.Mrs. Eilks, the former Minnie Reinbe, was born April 17, 1898, in Plymouth County. She married George Eilks Dec. 18,1918, in Brunsville. They fanned in the Brunsville area and moved to a farm southeast of Hawarden in 1935. They retired in 1954 and moved to Alton. Mr. Eilks died Aug. 29, 1965. She was employed at the Orange City Hospital from 1966 until 1975 when she moved to Hawarden. Mrs. Eilks was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Farm Bureau, Progressive Club and Golden Agers.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. J.B. (Helen) Schiefen of Hawarden; one brother, Earl, of Pullayup, WA; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Elmer Holtkamp, Herman Holtkamp, Evert Karssen, Vincent Mum, Dale Edmunds, and John Orton.
