Harriet Klein died March 26, 1982 in Minneapolis, Minnesota after a long illness, She was 86 years old.

Miss Klein was the oldest daughter of Gerrit and Nellie Klein. She spent the early years of her life, through High School, in Sioux Center, Iowa, where her father owned a general store.

She was a graduate of the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago, Illinois, and from the school of Social Service Administration at the University of Chicago.

Her nursing career covered approximately 40 years in the fields of administration and education-first at the University of Iowa, and later at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee; United Hospital in Portchester, New York; and finally at the Memorial Hospital for Cancer and Allied Diseases in New York City.

Miss Klein is survived by a sister, Alice, Mrs. Phil Scott of Spirit Lake, Iowa, and a niece, Rosemary, Mrs. Robert W. Taylor of Ames, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Nelle Klein and another sister, Christine (Cressie), Mrs. W.J. de Bruyn.

A private family service will be held later at the Sioux Center Cemetery.
