Raymond J. Klein, 91, Alton, died Saturday, November 19, 1994 at Marian Health Center, Sioux City. Funeral Services were held Tuesday, November 22 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. Reverend Kent Sailstad officiated. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Alton, under the direction of Fisch Funeral Home, Remsen.

Raymond was born November 4, 1903 in Alton to Jacob and Mary (Haupert) Klein. He was raised in the Alton area and attended St. Mary’s Academy at Alton. He married Evelyn Dysthe April 4, 1932 at Sioux City. The couple farmed near Remsen until 1934 when they moved to a farm near Alton. They moved into Alton in 1960. Mrs. Klein died June 10, 1979.

Raymond was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton.

Survivors include a daughter, Marlene and her husband Robert Sailstad, Duluth, Minnesota; three grandsons, Reverend Kent Sailstad, Silver Bay, Minnesota; Tim Sailstad, Des Moines; and Rob Sailstad, Minneapolis, Minnesota; and a sister, Mrs. Joe (Sylvine) Schaul, Alton.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Michael, Charles, Matt and Bernard; and six sisters, Mrs. Ted (Ann) Huss, Mrs. Hick (Margaret) Hansen, Sister Mary Verna-OSF, Mary, Lena and Christine Klein.
