Leo Klein, 79, of Granville, died Sunday, June 28, 1992 at the Orange City Municipal Hospital after a long illness.

Services were held Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Granville, with the Reverend Ronald J. Reicks officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery under the direction of the Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen.

Mr. Klein was born June 30, 1912 in rural Granville, son of Jacob and Cecelia (Goebel) Klein. He grew up and attended school in the area. He farmed near Granville and retired on the farm in 1973. He moved into town in August of 1991.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include four sisters, Agnes Klein and Mrs. Julius (Mary Ann) Penning, both of Granville, and Sister M. Oda, OSF, and Sister M. Tresa, OSF, both of Dubuque, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Lawrence (Luella) Klein of Granville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Nick, Henry J. and Lawrence Klein, and a sister, Mrs. Ed (Anna) Penning.
