Hilda Vander Lugt, 70, of Hawarden, died Thursday, July 25, 1985, in a nursing home in Hawarden. Services were at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Christian Reformed Church in Hawarden. Rev. Tom D. Does officiated. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home, Sioux Center.
Mrs. Vander Lugt, the former Hilda Blom, was born Jan. 10, 1915, in Orange City. She attended Orange City Christian School, Orange City Academy, Northwestern College and Stewart Beauty College. She married Dick Vander Lugt Sept. 1, 1949, at Hawarden. They made their, home in Hawarden. Mrs. Vander Lugt was active in the World Home Bible League. She was preceded in death by a great grandson.
Survivors include her husband; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Marlin (Darlene) Van Wyhe of Ireton; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
