Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hawarden December 11 for Miss Ruth M. Kennedy, retired superintendent of the Hawarden hospital, who died December 9 at the age of 66.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Wiliam Carel and burial was in the church cemetery at Hawarden.

Miss Kenendy was born May 14, 1906 near Hawarden and was a 1927 graduate of St. Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing, in Sioux City. She began working at the Hawarden hospital in 1936, and had served as superintendent from 1948 until her recent retirement.

Survivors include two nieces, Mrs. Charles (Nada) Snyder of Casper, Wyoming, and Mrs. Jack (Rita) Lamorex of Wayzata, Minnesota.
