Death: August 20, 1947Mr. William Kraayenbrink passed away early Wednesday morning August 20, 1947, at the age of 74 years, eleven months and 28 days. Death came to him at the hospital at Cutlerville, Michigan where he had been a patient for about eight weeks.
Mr. Kraayenbrink was born in Holland on August 22, 1873. As a young man he came to the United States, and spent all of his life in Sioux County. On March 4, 1896 he was united in marriage to Miss Dena Nyman. They made their home on a farm near Sioux Center until 1920 at which time they retired from farming and moved to town. They remembered their golden wedding anniversary last spring.
Seven children were born to them, four of which preceded him in death. Two died in infancy and Bertha who passed away on January 13, 1934 and Jennie passing away on January 29, 1941.
Left to mourn his departure are the widow and three children: Johanna (Mrs. Louis Achterhof) of Rock Valley, Minnie (Mrs. John C. Klein) of Sioux Center and Gerrit at home.
Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon, August 23, at one o'clock at the home and at one thirty o'clock at the First Christian Reformed church. Reverend William Bajema of Orange City officiated at the services. The Vermeer brothers quartet, consisting of Edwin, Wilbur, Arnold and Marvin Vermeer furnished the special music at the services.
Burial took place at the Sioux Center cemetery and acting as pallbearers were A. Ten Harmsel, Wm. Mouw, Lane De Stigter, Jake Cleveringa, Bart Van Donge and Dick De Groot.
