John Kooistra, age 61, of Allendale, Michigan passed away late Thursday evening, February 8, 1990.

John was originally from Rock Valley. He is survived by his children, Connie and Jim Courtright of Grand Rapids; Gloria and Bill Medendorp of Wayland, Michigan; Curtis Kooistra of Wyoming, Michigan; Karen and Ray Gillhespy of Wyoming, Michigan, Wayne and Cheryl Kooistra of Allendale, Michigan, Brian Kooistra of Grand Rapids; his former wife, Jeanette; 13 grandchildren; his sister and brothers, Mary and John Van Zanten, Rock Valley; Ken and Carol Kooistra, Sioux Center; Orville and Kay Kooistra and Erwin and Alma Kooistra of Rock Valley; a special friend, Cornelius (Corky) Pals of Lamont, Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Fannie Kooistra.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 13 from the Vander Laan Funeral Home in Hudsonville, Michigan with Reverend Douglas Zimmerman, pastor of North Blendon Christian Reformed Church officiating. Interment was in Allendale Cemetery.
