From the Rock Valley Bee, December 9, 1910:

Mrs. Ole Jacobson, a pioneer of Sioux County, died at her home in Sioux township Tuesday night of last week after an illness of a few days with pneumonia. She was past sixty-three years old. She was respected and highly esteemed by all who knew her and her death was a great shock to a large circle of friends. Funeral services were held Friday morning at the home of the deceased and the remains were buried in the cemetery near Inwood.

From the Hawarden Independent, December 8, 1910:

Mrs. Ole Jacobson died of pneumonia last Wednesday after a two days' illness at the age of 63 years. She leaves a husband, two sons and four daughters of whom three were present at the time of her demise. The funeral was held Friday. Rev. Numendahl of Moe preached the funeral sermon and she was laid to rest in a family plot six miles north of her home.

(An accompanying news note says that Mrs. Frank Hazlitt of Dye, Neb. came to attend the funeral of her mother, Mrs. Jacobson.)

The 1910 U.S. census shows living in Sioux Township, Sioux County, Ole Jacobsen, age 72, married 37 years, born Norway, immigrated 1856, naturalized, a farmer; wife Betsy, age 65, mother of 6 children, all living, born Norway, immigrated 1858; and children Hannah (22) and Adolph (17), both born Iowa.
