Cornie Idema who lives near Newkirk is very seriously ill with pneumonia and on Thursday his life was despaired of. Reports this Friday noon are little more encouraging and slight hope is held out.

At his home near Newkirk, on Saturday April 11th, Cornie Idema passed away after a short illness of pneumonia. Deceased was born in the Netherlands on Aprll 16th 1878 and was therefore only 36 years of age when cruel death claimed him. Deceased came to this country at the age of three years and nine years ago he landed in Sioux county. On March 9th 1905 he was united in marriage to Miss Ella Hoeven, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Evert Hoeven of Alton.
This union was blessed with three children, all of whom survive, and with a young widow, mourn the untimely death of a loving husband and father. Deceased is also survived by a sister Mrs. M. Klunder of.Chlcago and his mother also of Chicago. The funeral services were held on Tuesday of this week from the Reformed Church of Newkirk, Rev. Douwstra, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment was made In the Newkirk cemetery. Mrs. Idema, Mr. and Mrs. M. Klunder and Henry VanderWarf, all of Chicago, were present at the funeral. This death is extremely sad and the bereaved widow and children have the sincere sympathy of the entire community.
