Berend D. Schelling was born to Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Schelling, Feb. 28, 1908 in Sioux County, Iowa. He passed away in the Armour, South Dakota hospital March 11, 1982 at the age of 74 years and 11 days. On Jan. 30, 1931 he was married to Marie Ymker at Corsica, S.D. To this union was born four sons, John, Cornie, Rochus and Lambert; four daughters, Mrs. Harold (Hattie) Hubers, Mrs. Frank (Betty) Powell, Mrs. Clarence (Marlene) Zomer and Mrs. Ivan (Minnie Jean) Van Der Werff.

He leaves to mourn , his wife Marie and his 4 sons; 4 daughters; 36 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 5 brothers, Rochus, Lane, John, Ralph, and Paul; 3 sisters, Mrs. John (Elizabeth) Groothest, Mrs. Pete (Julia) Van Beek, and Mrs. Gerrit (Ella Marie) Overeen.

He was preceded in death by one granddaughter; his parents; one brother; and two sisters.
