Died: January 10, 1951 Hawarden, Iowa

Peter Hoogland, 54, died Friday (1/19/1951) in Hawarden, following a short illness. He had complained of not feeling well, but had been up and about. Death was due to a heart attack.

He was born at Orange City, July 10, 1896, where when a child he was baptized in the First Reformed Church. At an early age he moved with his family to the state of Washington where he lived several years. He assisted his father with the work on the farm until he retired in 1938 when he moved to Orange City. For the past eight years he was employed by his brother Andrew on the farm south of Hawarden.

He is survived by his father, Roelof Hoogland of Mallard, Iowa; three brothers, Walter of Ellsworth, MN., Andrew of Ireton and Ted of Orange City; Two sisters, Mrs. William Torwelle of Hawarden and Mrs. H. C. Braafhart of Mallard.
His mother; three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held at the Associated Church with Rev. T. A. Mansen officiating. Interment was in the Ireton Cemetery under the direction of the Barnard Funeral Service.
