Word was received here of the death of former resident George Jones, 73 of New Albany, Indiana. Mr. Jones died Saturday at the Veterans hospital in Louisville.

He was married to the former Florine Smith of Hawarden who died a number of years ago. She was a sister of Harold Smith, Mrs. Cordie Rush, Mrs. Bertha Hodoway and Mrs. Grace Wood of Hawarden and Porter Smith of Hudson, Mrs. Jones later remarried.

Survivors include the widow and three children, Miles Jones and Mrs. Ray Tyler, both of New Albany, and Bill Jones in the service stated at Hawaii.
