Nellie Nyhuis, 94 of Gig Harbor, WA. formerly of Hull, died Thurs. June 13, at the Cottesmore of Life Care Center in Gig Harbor.

A memorial service took place on Mon. June 17, at Edgewood Community Church in Edgewood, WA. A graveside service is scheduled for Sat. June 22, at 2 p.m. at Hope Cemetery in Hull. Rev. Harold Lenters will officiate.

Mrs. Nyhuis was born Nov. 4, 1907 near Perkins the daughter of John and Margaret (Kroon) Olivier. She married John Nyhuis and in 1942, they moved to WA. He died Jan. 24, 1956.

She was a member of the Trinity Reformed Church in Kent WA. For the past several years she attended Edgewood Community Church. She enjoyed helping others, especially as a food server at the Summer Senior Center where she "helped serve the Old Folks".

Family members include two sons and their wives, Alverne M. and Barbara Nyhuis of Federal Way, WA, and Norman A. and Sonya Nyhuis of Gig Harbor; two grandchildren; a brother, Arie Olivier of Sioux Center; two sisters, Gertrude Van't Hul and Dorothy J. Bomgaars, both of Sioux Center; and numerous nephews and nices.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Ensign John H. Nyhuis, in August of 1950 in North Korea.
