Brian Newel, a former North English resident and teacher, died Sunday, April 28, 2002 in Texas.

A memorial service will be Sat. May 11, at 1:30 p.m. in English Valleys High School gymnasium.

Survivors include his wife, Miriah, and her children, Michael and Chris Rambler, Barbie Reed and Dayna Wood; his mother, Kay, of North English; his brother Doug and his wife Linda of Newton; his sister Kathy and her husband Scott Rachel of Sunrise, FLA; and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Newel. The Newels were formerly residents of Sioux Center. Brian graduated from Sioux Center High school in 1972.
