Rolena Vander Velde nee Kooima, Artestia, California, formerly of Rock Valley, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at her home in Artestia, California.

Rolena Vander Velde, daughter of Nick and Henrietta Kooima, was born December 3, 1916 and attended rural school in Sioux County. She married John Vander Velde on June 28, 1940. They lived in Rock Valley and California throughout their married life.

Survivors include her son Don (Nancy) Vander Velde; her daughter, Linda Vander Velde and two granddaughters, Kambria and Julie Vander Velde, all of California. Sisters-in-law: Pearl Kooima of Coopersville, MI; Betty Bartels of Jerome, Idaho; brother-in-law Pudd (Evelyn) Vander Velde of Rock Valley and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her husband, John Vander Velde, parents, parents-in-law and three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
