The Reverend Paul M. Vande Hoef, age 77, went to be with his Lord, Thursday, July 5, 2007.

Services were Tuesday, July 10, at Remembrances Reformed Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with the Reverends Rod Kamrath and Vern Vander Werf officiating. Burial was at Grandville Cemetery in Grandville, Michigan, under the direction of Cook Funeral Home in Granville, Michigan.

Paul Vande Hoef, son of Paul and Maggie Vande Hoef, was born November 25, 1929, in Boyden.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Maggie Vande Hoef; his daughter, Gloria Timmer; his sister, Jeanette Calsbeek; and his step-children, Melissa Boss, Calvin Stehouwer, Leslie Stehouwer.

Paul will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Thelma Vande Hoef (Visser); his children, Darrell (Conni) Vande Hoef, Paula (Doug) Drumm, Jeff (Pam) Vande Hoef, Karla (Steve) Johnson, Wendy Stehouwer, Peter (Jill) Stehouwer; his surviving children-in-law, John (Jan) Timmer, Mark (Betsy) Boss; his 10 grandchildren; his siblings, Willard (Eunice) Vande Hoef, Anna Mae (Hank) Van Allsburg, Richard (Harriet) Vande Hoef; and many nieces and nephews.

Paul was involved in the community through Grandville Rotary. He served as a Past President of the Synod of Michigan and was a member of South Grand Rapids Classis.

Paul graduated from Hope College and Western Theological Seminary. He served the Reformed Church congregations of Aberdeen, Rose Park, and Heritage churches. Paul retired early from the Pastorate and enjoyed the rest of his career in real estate sales.

A time for relatives and friends to visit with Paul's family will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Cook Memorial Chapel in Grandville, 4235 Prairie St. SW. Private committal services will be held prior to the service. Memorial services will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Remembrance Reformed Church, 4575 Remembrance Rd. in Grand Rapids.
