Frances Janette Stange, 90, Sheldon, died Sunday, March 18, at Northwest Iowa Health Center in Sheldon.

Services were Thursday, March 22, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon, with the Reverend Mark Kukkonen officiating. Burial was at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery near Hull, under the direction of Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon.

Frances Stange, daughter of George and Dena (Behrends) Becker, was born November 8, 1916, near George. She attended Public School District No. 2 of Dale Township in Lyon County. She married Edward Stange on September 26, 1941, in Ashton.

They made their home on a farm near Hull. They farmed most of their married life in the Hull and Doon area. Mr. Stange died May 1, 1971, where she worked in a restaurant, a greenhouse and in the kitchen at Sheldon Hospital before retiring in the mid-1980s.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon and of the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed working, and taking care of her yard and flowers.

Survivors include two children, Carol and Eugene Dierksen of Dundas, Minnesota, and William “Bill” Stange of Altus, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Strange; and two brothers, Marvin Becker and Fred Becker.
