Hawarden Independent, March 15, 1917

Mrs. J. H. Moline, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Henry Barton of Sioux City, died very suddenly at her home there last evening. The deceased was only 20 years of age and was married only about four months ago. She was well known in Hawarden as Vernie Barton, having resided here with her parents for several years, prior to moving to Sioux City. Her many friends here will be greatly shocked to learn of her untimely death. Her grandmother, Mrs. Mary Granger, will go to Sioux City tomorrow to be present at the funeral.
