Jake Middendorp, 83, of Rock Valley died Tuesday, October 7 at a Rock Valley hospital of a long illness.

Services were at 1:30 p.m., Thursday in the Porter Funeral Home at Rock Valley. The Rev. Joel Beeke officiated. Burial will be in the Valley View Cemetery at Rock Valley.

Mr. Middendorp was born Nov. 26, 1896, in The Netherlands. He came to America at the age of 14.

He married Katie Burggraff, March 10, 1921, at Inwood. He was in the general trucking business in Rock Valley.

Survivors include the widow; two sons, Cornelius Middendorp of Sioux Center and William Middendorp of Hull; 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
