Died: December 24, 2007Glenn Arlan Rensink, 75, Hospers, died Monday, December 24, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Services were Friday, December 28, at Newkirk Reformed Church with the Reverend David Powers officiating. Burial was at Newkirk Cemetery, under the direction of Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City.
Glenn Rensink, son of Arthur and Nina (Peters) Rensink, was born November 21, 1932, in rural Hospers. He was raised on farms near Newkirk, where he graduated from high school.
He married Lois Ann Van Berkum on September 21, 1956, in Rock Valley. They were dairy and crop farmers on the family farm northwest of Newkirk their entire married life. After retirement, he enjoyed helping with fieldwork whenever possible.
He was a member of Newkirk Reformed Church all his adult life. He was a fun-loving man, who had a great sense of humor. He looked forward to spending time with his family and friends. He liked traveling, watching and attending sports events, reading, browsing on his computer and sending e-mails.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Rensink of Hospers; two sons and four daughters, Lu Ann and Rokk Ridout of Alta, Greg and Cindy Rensink of Chicago, Kim Case of St. Louis, Karla and Larry Von Arb of Chicago, Sheila and Edward De Laura of Hospers, and Clayton and Gail Rensink of Sioux Center; 14 grandchildren, two step grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Donald Bonnema of Pella; his mother-in-law, Tilda Van Berkum of Rock Valley; and his wife’s four brothers and their families.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Harriet Joyce Bonnema; a niece; and his father-in-law, Luke Van Berkum.
