Rock Valley - Albert Moorlag was born February 3, 1903 at Hull, Iowa. Died on Wednesday evening, May 6, at a Grand Rapids hospital where he had submitted to an operation for a tumor of the brain from which he did not recover. He was one of eight children born to Deddi & Jurena Moorlag. He farmed for 26 years around Rock Valley. He was married to Miss Rolena Driesen, February 3, 1927. To this union two children were born, Edith, who preceded him in death in 1938 at the age of 8 years and Dick who is still at home. Besides the widow and son he leaves to mourn his passing one brother Hans Moorlag of Rock Valley; three sisters, Minnie, Mrs. John Boer; Rolena, Mrs. Al Veltkamp of Rock Valley; Dena, Mrs. Martin Van Duyn of Jenison, Mich.
He was an active member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley, served several years as an Elder and Deacon of this particular church. He also served many years on the Christian School Board.
Funeral services were held at two o'clock Monday at the First Christian Reformed Church of Rock Valley with Rev. C. Muissen officiating.
Pall bearers were: George Van Beek; John Post; Bert Van't Hul; Tom Galswyk; Andrew Koedam and Peter Van Otterloo.
