Grace A. Potts, 66, Hawarden, formerly of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, died Friday, April 6, at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Hawarden.

Services were Tuesday, April 10, at Miller Funeral Home in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Arrangements were under the direction of Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden.

Grace Potts, daughter of Fern Harold and Norma (Galer) Slutts, was born January 19, 1941, in Hazel Park, Michigan.

She married Noel Potts Sr. on August 22, 1959. They lived in several locations and settled in Oxnard, California, in 1971, when he retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service. After her husband’s death, she returned to the Midwest that she loved in 1989 and lived in Hawarden and Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She held many jobs during her life including waitress, quality control, Cub Scout den mother, wife and mother, and she did them all well. Her last job was QA at Hutchinson Technology in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

She enjoyed reading, crafts, dogs, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include four children, Naomi and Peter Tolley of Santa Paula, California, Patti and Eldon King of Bakersfield, California, Noel Jr. and Melora Potts of Huntington Beach, California, and Barbie and Norm Erickson of Hawarden; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Noel Potts, Sr.; a son, Darwin “Sparky” Star; a grandson, Jonathon Star; a granddaughter, Brenna Ennis; and numerous siblings.
