From the Rock Valley Bee, July 15, 1910:

Hazel Evans McClemons died at her home in Bushnell, S.D., Friday of last week after an illness extending over the greater part of a year. Death came as a result of tuberculosis contracted last September.

Hazel Evans was born Dec. 25, 1889 at Willowdale, Nebr., and lived at Hull, Iowa until seven years ago when the family moved to Volga, S.D. She graduated from Volga school in 1905; spent a year in Rock Valley, Ia., high school, and the following year at the Agricultural college, Brookings, S.D. She will be remembered by a number of friends in Rock Valley. She was married in February 1909 to John McClemons of Bushnell, S.D.

Left with the bereaved husband to mourn her loss are her father and mother and four sisters and two brothers. The sisters are Mrs. C. J. Lawton of Lafarge, Wis., Mrs. C. P.[?] Hodge of Doon, Ia., Mrs. W. E. Blatherwick of Drake, N.D. and Mrs. F. J. Secora of Ft. Pierre, S.D. The brothers, Eugene D. Evans lives at Sinani and Robert Evans at Volga.
