Clarence Mulder, 78, of Rock Valley died Tuesday, November 27, 1990, at his home after a long illness. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 30 at the First Reformed Church of Rock Valley, with the Rev. Norman Van Heukelom officiating. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery. Visitation was held at the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.

Mr. Mulder was born July 20, 1912, at Leota, Minnesota. He married Jess Dykstra June 22, 1937, at Rock Valley. The couple lived at Rock Valley, where he was a painter until 1945 when he established the Mulder Oil Company. He retired in 1975.

Mr. Mulder was a past member of the Rock Valley Commercial Club and Valley Male Quartet. He was a past trustee of the Rock Township Board. He was a member of the First Reformed Church where he had been a Sunday school teacher and choir member.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dr. Richard Mulder of Ivanhoe, Minnesota, and Clair Mulder of Marcus; a daughter, Mrs. Siebert (Judi) Dorhout of Rock Valley; four brothers, Pete of Edgerton, Minnesota, Ted and Earnest, both of Sioux Center and John of Bellflower, California; one sister, Rena Van Eldick of Rock Valley; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
