Margaret Harmelink, of Stromsburg, Neb., formally of Rock Valley, died Saturday, April 13, at the York General Hospital, York, Neb. She was 84 years old.
Services were held Tuesday at the Evangelical Free Church of Stromsburg, Neb. and will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Reformed Church of Rock Valley. Burial will be at the Valley View Cemetery, Rock Valley. Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley is in charge of the arrangements.
Margaret, daughter of Dirk and Nellie (Vander Velde) Van Eldik, was born December 23, 1906 near Rock Valley. She married Gerrit Harmelink on January 18, 1927 at Orange City. Together they lived at Cedar Grove, Wisconsin before moving to Rock Valley. In 1987, Gerrit and Margaret moved to Stromsburg to be closer to their daughter. Margaret was a member of the First Reformed Church of Rock Valley.
Survivng relatives include her husband, Gerrit of Stromsburg, Nebraska; one daughter, Mrs. Vernon (Lois) Behr, Stromsburg, Nebraska; one siter, Ardelle Lieux of Miami, Florida; 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
