(obit was found in the surname file in the Gr. So. Co. Gen. Soc files, with no paper or date on it. It could not be found searching the Sioux County papers on line. There was a card of Thanks from the family in the Nov 22, 1979 Hawarden Independent)

Mrs. David Johnson - Hawarden Iowa
Mrs. David A Johnson 79 of Hawarden, died Saturday in a hospital at Hawarden. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Trinity Lutheran Church at Hawarden. The Rev. Dwight Rengstrof will officiate. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery.

There will be a prayer service eat 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Dow Funeral home at Hawarden.

Mrs. Johnson, the former Hattie Schlumbohm, was born March 22, 1900, in Sioux County. She was married to David Johnson Dec. 23, 1919, in Peace Lutheran Church near Sioux Center. They lived southwest of Rock Valley after their marriage. They moved to Hawarden in 1939. Mr. Johnson died June 9, 1964.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aid.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Edward Inez Treiber of Hawarden: a sister, Mrs. Ed Hilda Degen of Hawarden; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
