Source a local area paper after March 18, 1974 (couldn’t find obit in Sioux County Papers on line)

Mrs. Barbara Garner 63. Died Monday at a Sioux City hospital after a short illness (died 18 Mar 1974 buried St. Mary’s Hawarden)

Mrs. Garner the former Opal I. White was born July 10, 1911 in Hawarden, Iowa. Her name later became Barbara Garner. Mrs. Garner had lived at Hawarden until moving to Sioux City 10 years ago. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Hawarden.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. James Marily Simpson of Minnepolis and Mrs. James Judy Houlsworth of South Sioux City; her mother Mrs. M. Molhoff of Hawarden; 10 grandchilrden; three great grandchildren; two brothers, James White of Vancouver, Wash., and Thoedore White of Sedro Valley Wash; and two sisters, Mrs. Vernon Ruth Penning of Seney, IA and Mrs. Edward Helen Sherman of Hawarden.

(Barbara was married 1961 to Raymond Garner at Dakota City and divorced in 1964 Sioux City. )
