Margaret Muehlethaler, 91, Artesia, California, formerly of Rock Valley, died Tuesday, May 22, in Artesia.

Services in California were Tuesday, May 29. Services in Rock Valley were Thursday, May 31, at Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley. Burial was at Valley View Cemetery in Rock Valley.

Margaret Muehlethaler, daughter of Nick and Johanna (Kass) Vander Meulen, was born October 20, 1915, in Edgerton Minnesota. The family moved to Rock Valley when she was a young child.

She married Albert Muehlethaler and they lived in Rock Valley, where she worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone, RV Bee and Van’s Grocery. Mr. Muehlethaler died in 1960. She moved to California in 1968, where she lived with her sister, Barbara Bottger, and niece, Marletta Bottger. She moved into Artesia Christian Home in January 2007.

She was an active volunteer at Artesia Christian Home Auxiliary and Affordable Treasures for Charity. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and worked at Solaco with Bibles (Bible League) until she was 90 years old.

Survivors include many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Muehlethaler, and four sisters, Barbara Bottger, Renzella Klein, Clazena Kuiper and Leona Vande Weerd.
