Mildred Kobes
Mrs. Harry Kobes, 71, of Orange City, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 17, upon arrival at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.

Mrs. Kobes, the former Mildred Viola Myers, was born September 11,1909, at Muscatine, the daughter of Herman Myers and Ella Mohr Myers. On Sept. 11, 1909, she married Harry G. Kobes at Sioux City. They lived in Sioux City until about 1950, when they moved to Orange City. She vas a member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Orange City, the Garden Club, and the Women's Club. She was a former member of the Monica Society. She was very active in the development of Kobes Gardens, assisting in all phases.

Survivors include her husband; four sons, Harry L., of Sioux City; Major Eugene, of Midland City, Ala.; Jerry, of Sioux Falls; and John, of Diamond Bar, Calif.; 16 grandchildren , three great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Clarence Peterson, of Sioux City; and one brother, Glen Myers, of Long Beach, Calif. Mrs. Kobes was preceded in death by one daughter, Margaret Arlene Mulheron.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 20, at the First Christian Reformed Church, with the Rev, Thomas C. Vanden Heuvel officiating. Interment followed at West Lawn Cemetery, under the direction of the Van Ettern –Oolman Funeral Home of Orange City. The congregation sang, accompanied by Mrs. Peter Jeltema. Casket bearers were Harry L., Eugene, Jerry, John, and Ronald
Kobes, and William Mulheron.
