Services Held Wednesday For James Kennedy
James Kennedy, 76, barber here for many years, died at his home Sunday morning following a long illness.

He was born May 18, 1879, in Union county, South Dakota where he spent his boyhood. The rest of his life was spent as a barber in Hawarden. He married Katherine Mellett of Boston, Mass., September 28 1904, at St. Mary's Catholic church here, of which he was a lifelong member. He was a 50 year member of the Catholic Order of Forresters. The Kennedys celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1954.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock in St. Mary's Catholic church Rev. Fr. Oswald Gasper, 0. F. M. officiating. . Interment was a Grace Hill cemetery under the direction of the Barnard Funeral home. Casket bearers were Alex Doohen, John Dalton, Jack Mc Manaman, Jim Gourley, John Mc Manaman and Wm. Ruttan.

Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Ruth, superintendent of the Hawarden hospital, and Mrs. Helen Dreier of Casper, Wyo.; two granddaughters, Mrs. Jack Lamoureux of Marshall, Minn., and Mrs. Tony Vande Hoef of Casper, Wyo.; a sister, Mrs. Mike Doctor of Ponca City, Okla., and three great grandchildren.
