James S. Ludwig, 65, rural Alcester, South Dakota, died Saturday, November 3, at Hawarden Community Hospital.

Services will be 1:30 P.M. today (Saturday, November 10) at Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden. Private family burial will be at Grace Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 A.M. today at the funeral Home.

James Ludwig, son of Stanley and Nellie (Bedard) Ludwig, was born December 12, 1941, in Beresford, South Dakota. He graduated from Alcester High School. He married Leanna Dean in June 1966, in Elk Point, South Dakota. They later divorced. He moved to Sioux City, where he helped to build IBP, and later worked at IBP until 1981, when he moved to Phoenix. He was employed as a glass installer and in management. He later owned his own glass company and retired in 2003. He enjoyed living in the Midwest during the summer and going back to Phoenix during the winter in his motor home.

He loved racing, Fishing, football and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Nicole and Bill Hinkel of Merrrill, and Amanda Boyle of Woodbine; six grandchildren; two brothers, Kenny Ludwig and Chris McKeown of Hawarden and Dennis Ludwig of Phoenix; and two sisters, Gloria and Ron Finch of Hawarden and Barb Hasse of Phoenix.
