Born: November 24, 1911, Plato Township Sioux County, Iowa
Died: May 4, 1991 Rock Valley, IowaJohn Ranschau 79, of Rock Valley, died Sat. May 4, at Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. Tues. at Peace Lutheran Church, rural Sioux Center, with Rev. James Peterson officiating. Burial was in Peace Lutheran Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Ranschua was born Nov. 24, 1911, in Plato Township, Sioux County, the son of John and Johanna (Lahn) Ranschua. He farmed the family farm and was in partnership with his brother, Herman, from 1946-1975. In 1989, he retired and moved to Rock Valley.
Ranschau was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a brother, Henry J. of Rock Valley; three sisters, Meta Baatz of Rock Rapids, Alma Perry of Milwaukee, Wis. and Emma Baatz of Inwood; and many nephews and nieces includeing Linda Petersen of Hawarden, Evelyn Eldridge of Fremont, NE. and Arlene Semans of Sioux Falls,S.D.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Karl, and Herman and two sisters, Elsie Smith and Minnie Pulscher.
