Mrs. John Hofland, nee Mary Donai, was born July 21, 1862, at Pella, Iowa. In 1893 she was married to John Hofland. She lived in Pella and Des Moines, Ia. until 1906, when the family moved to Orange City. She was preceded in death in 1913 by a daughter Catherine, aged 17 years, in 1927 by a son, Johnnie aged 17 years, and in 1928 by her husband. She is survived by a son, Carl G. Hofland of Sheldon, Ia., a daughter, Marie (Mrs. Ellsworth De Jong) of Orange City and five grandchildren; Beverly Rhea Hofland, and Rodney, Johnnie, Billy and Mary De Jong. She also leaves a sister Mrs. Jennie Van Vliet of Otley, Iowa and a brother, John J. Donai of Des Moines, Ia.

John J. Donai of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Donai of Knoxville, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Donai of Pella and Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Kahoun of Sioux City were present for the funeral services.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the First Reformed church of Orange City conducted by Rev. H. Colenbrander and Rev. L.R. Nattress.
