Jesse Searle Home was born in Haliford, England, March 8, 1851, and died in Hawarden June 6, 1930, at the age of 79 years, 2 months and 28 days. When he was about 17 years old he came with his uncle to the United States, taking up his residence at Rosendale, Wis. From Ireton he went to Alcester where he resided for several years and from there he went to Philip, S.D., near which place he took up a claim. He also resided for short periods of time at points in North Dakota and Minnesota. During the past few years he had made his home at Sioux Falls until last November, since which time he made his home in this city with his sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Drew, and nephew, F. E. Drew. He was well known to many of the older residents of this locality and was held in high esteem.

He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Olive Jones and Mrs. Elizabeth Drew of Hawarden, and Mrs. Lottie Freeman of Minneapolis, and two brothers, Wm. Hone of Alcester and Chas. Hone of Archer, Iowa.

Relatives and friends from out of town who were here to attend the funeral included Chas. Hone and Miss Grace Merwin of Archer, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hone and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Purdy of Alcester; Mr. and Mrs. S.O. Drew and daughter Dorothy, and Mrs. J.D. Drew and son Milo and daughter Lola, all of Sioux Falls, and Miss Erna Overheu of Wentworth, S.D.
