Mrs. Rose Hofmeyer, 96, of Hospers, passed away Monday, November 30, at the Orange City Municipal Nursing Home. Funeral services were held Thurs., Dec. 3 at the First Reformed Church of Hospers with the Rev. Carl De Jong officiating. Interment followed at the Hospers Cemetery, under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.

Rose was born Aug. 3, 1891 in Minnesota, the daughter of Peter Zwagerman and Bertha Finger Zwagerman. On Feb. 18, 1914 she married William H. Hofmeyer at Hospers They farmed near Orange City for six years and then moved to a farm near Hospers. In 1953 they retired into Hospers. Mr. Hofmeyer passed away Dec. 20, 1969 at Orange City. In 1986, Mrs Hofmeyer became a resident of the nursing home.

She was a member of the First Reformed Church of Hospers.

Survivors include her three daughters Mrs. Peter (Lillian) Van Kley of Hospers; Mrs. Joe C. (Bertha) Kleinhesselink of Orange City and Mrs. Gerrit (Hermina) Schneider of Hospers; a son, Peter Willis of Hospers: 12 grandchildren 37 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Bertha Vogel of Lynden, Washington.

In addition to her husband, she was preceeded in death by a grandson, two great-grandchildren, two sisters, and four brothers including her twin, Dick.
