Funeral services were held at Trinity Reformed Church in Orange City at 10 A.M. Friday, October 8 for John J. Hofmeyer, 62, of Orange City, who died October 5, at the Orange City Hospital following a brief illness.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Donald Lenderink and burial was made in West Lawn Cemetery at Orange City.

Mr. Hofmeyer was born September 19, 1909. He was married to Wilmina Mouw at Orange City in 1930 and since that date the couple had farmed southwest of Orange City.

Survivors include the widow, Wilmina; a daughter, Mrs. Laverne (Ruth) Vander Hamm in California; a son, Elmer of Orange City; five grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. John G. Hofmeyer of Orange City and a brother, Harvey of Alton.

Note: 1925 Iowa Census states his parents were John and Bessie Hofmeyer.
