Renold Schat, 91, of Maurice, died Sunday, August 31, in a nursing home in Northwood.

Services were at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday in St. John American Lutheran Church in Le Mars. The Rev. Tom Lee officiated. Burial was in the Memorial Cemetery north of Le Mars under the direction of the Mittelstadt Funeral Home of Lake Mills.

Mr. Schat was born October 23, 1888 at Hull, North Dakota. He married Clara Graese in 1924 in Canova, South Dakota. He resided in Maurice for 45 years where he managed the Northwestern State Bank. Mrs. Schat died in 1974.

Survivors include two sons, Ralph Schat of Rapid City, South Dakota and Cal Scott of Moville; one daughter, Miss Phyllis Schat of Lake Mills; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Mrs. Sy (Florence) Langstraat of Sheldon and Mrs. Nellie Perkinson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
