Henry Schenk, 79, of Sioux Center, died Sunday, June 7, in a Sioux Falls Hospital.

Services were at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, June 10, at Carmel Reformed Church in Carmel, with the Rev. Virgil Dystra officiating. Burial was in Carmel Cemetery.

Schenk was born December 24, 1907, in Carmel. He lived his youth in the Carmel and Sioux Center area and attended rural school.

He married Helena Den Hartog on June 4, 1931, in Carmel.

Henry Schenk lived near Sioux Center for 56 years. He was a member of Carmel Reformed Church.

Survivors include his wife, Helena; two sons, Dennis and Nestor, both of Sioux Center; two daughters, Christina Vander Esch of Hawarden and Beverly Berguist of Sacramento, California; a sister, Tracy Dykstra of Hull; 18 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
