Sad Death

It becomes the duty of the Bee to chronicle the death of Henry Scott Anderson Schirmer, the little fifteen months' old son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Schirmer which occurred Sunday [March 18] after about 2:30 o'clock. The deceased was a bright child and had been in usual health till Sunday morning. The symptoms of the little one's final illness did not assume a serious aspect till about half past nine in the morning. All that medical skill and loving hands could do was of no avail. The little one survived one severe spasm but death followed the second and thus the little life that had brightened the home life of father, mother and little brother went out.

About fifty of the business men and a number of lady friends gathered at the home Monday afternoon and followed the remains of the little one to the depot. From there they were shipped to Emmetsburg where they were laid to rest. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. W. T. Jackson, pastor of Trinity church. Many were the floral offerings. Mr. S. A. Mitchell and Miss Irene Cummings accompanied the sorrowing parents to Emmetsburg. The Bee joins with friends of Mr. and Mrs. Schirmer in extending sympathy in their sad bereavement.
