Little Girl Killed

The little eight year old girl of Mr. and Mrs. G. Mostered was killed yesterday afternoon by getting into a tumbling rod on a power used in shelling corn. The little girl's head was crushed and her very brains knocked out. Dr. Huizenga was called, but the little one was past all earthly help.

A Card of Thanks in the January 5, 1906 Bee thanks friends and neighbors "for their many acts of kindness and sympathy shown during our late sad affliction--the loss by death of our little daughter, Gertie." It is signed Mr. and Mrs. G. Mostered.

This appears to be Hendrika Mosterdt. Her headstone in Valley View Cemetery Rock Valley (findagrave.com) says "Hendrika, Dochter von Gerrit en Aaltje Mosterdt, Geb. den 8 Sept 1898, Overleden den 28 Dec 1905."
