Mrs. Tillie Cupido, age 100, of Orange City, passed away Monday, April 3, at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.

Tillie was born March 16, 1889 at Middleburg, the daughter of Lukas Van Berkum and Clara Jacobsma Van Berkum.

On August 12, 1912 she married Jacob Cupido just before he entered seminary. After being ordained, the Rev. & Mrs. Cupido served Christian Reformed Churches all over the United States. Their last pastorate was the Hawarden Christian Reformed Church. In 1953 they retired to Orange City. On April 5, 1954, the Rev. Cupido passed away at Orange City.

In 1978 Mrs. Cupido became a resident of the Pioneer Memorial Home and in 1983 she transferred to the Heritage House Nursing Home, both in Orange City.

She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Orange City and the church's Thy Kingdom Come Society.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 5th, at the First Christian Reformed Church with the Rev. Ralph A. Pointier officiating. Interment followed at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City, under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-VanGelder Funeral Home of Orange City.
