Herbert Huisman Passes On
Funeral services were held in the First Chr. Ref. Church Friday afternoon for Herbert Huisman, who passed away on Tuesday morning, March 7 in the Municipal Hospital after having been admitted there 2 weeks ago for heart ailment.

Born March ,11, 1899 on a farm north of Orange City, he was raised there and was married Feb. 12, I920 to Jessie Kroeze of Orange City. After their marriage, the Huismans farmed near Sioux Center and Newkirk and retired to Orange City in 1957.

Mr. and Mrs. Huisman were the parents of 7 children: William of Phoenix, Arizona; Etta (Mrs. Willard Van Steenwyk) Orange City; Gerrit of Sacred Heart, Minn.; Hildred (Mrs. Harvey Pluim) of Orange City; Kenneth of Hospers; Stanley of Orange City, and Marvin of Sutherland. There are 16 grandchildren. Surviving besides his widow are his aged mother, in the Municipal Hospital here; 4 brothers: Nic, Andrew and William of Orange City, Jake of Sioux Center; 4 sisters: Mrs. John Kiel, Mrs. Tim Hens, Mrs. Neal Jongerius and Miss Nell Huisman, all of Orange City.

Mr. Huisman was preceded in death by his father in I958, a sister, Mrs. Neal Klein in 1956 and a sister, Mrs. John Hubers in July, 1960. Rev. J. B. Hulst was the officiating minister. Burial was in the Orange City cemetery under the direction of the Van Etten Funeral Service.
