The body of Mrs. Ed Fikse was brought to Sioux Center Tuesday. She died in a Sioux City hospital.

Another article in the same issue Mrs. Edw Fikse died in the hospital of Sioux Ciy last Sunday, She leaves her husband and 7 children the youngest being 4 years old.

Mrs. Ed. Fikse noord van de stad werd Zaterday naar het Sioux City
hospitaal vervoerd na een week ziek te zijn geweest tengevolge
van ingewands aandoening . Zondag avond is zij in het hospital
overleden in den leeftijd van ongeveer 35 jaren. Hendrika Van Oort
aanschouwde het levenslicht op de farm nabij Newkirk en heft sedert in
de omgeving gewoond. Benevens haardiepbedroefde echtgenoot en een 7
tal jeugdige kinderen waarvan de oudste een 15 jarige dochter en de
jongste 4 jaren oud, laat zij na haar moeder Mrs. J. Van Oort, twee
broeders; John en Peter en drie austers: Miss Effie Van Oort, Mrs. N.
Wielenga en Mrs. Vander Wilt. De begrafenisdienst zal Donderdag n.m.
om 2 uur plaats heffen in de 1e Ger. Kerk onder leiding van Ds. H.
Colenbrander.

Mrs. Ed. Fikse north of the city Saturday was transported to the Sioux
City hospital after a week to have been caused by visceral disease
illness. Sunday night she is in the hospital deceased at the age of
about 35 years. Hendrika Van Oort saw the light of day on the farm
near Newkirk and raises since lived in the area. In addition to her
bereaved husband and a 7 numerous youthful children, the oldest a 15
year old daughter and the youngest 4 years old, she also leaves her
mother Mrs. J. Van Oort, two brothers; John and Peter, and three
sisters: Miss Effie Van Oort, Mrs. N. Wielenga and Mrs. Vander Wilt. A
funeral service will be at 2 pm Thursday nm lift place in the 1st Ger.

(This was Hendrika or Hattie or Reka Van Oort born 1893 died 1929 buried in Orange City. She was the daughter of Jacob Van Oort 1861-1926 and Minnie Ravenstein 1868-1951. Her seven children were Geneva, Willmina, Harriet, Jacoba, Hendrik, Evelyn and Eunice - from the 1930 census).
