Carl (Charley) Carlson, 73, a resident of Hawarden for many years, died at the Hawarden hospital last Friday.

The physician who was attending Mr. Carlson at the time of his death said that he died as a result of paralysis which was caused by injuries suffered in a fall the evening of July 4.

Carl August Carlson was born May 8, 1879, coming to America in 1914. He was the only member of his family to come to America. In 1915 he entered the employ of the Northwestern railway company and worked at various places on the railroad for other companies.

As far as was known he was the last surviving member of his family. At the time of World War II a sister was still living in Sweden, but after the war he was unable to contact her.
