William Feekes, 88, of Rock Valley, died Thursday, July 17, at Valley Manor Nursing Home in Rock Valley. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July, 21, in Carmel Reformed Church, The Rev. Virgil Dykstra officiated. Burial was in Carmel Cemetery.

Feekes was born October 17, 1897, in Rock Valley. He lived his youth in the Carmel vicinity where he attended rural school. He married Cornelia Hulshof on March 26, 1919, in her parents' home near Rock Valley. The couple lived in the Carmel vicinity until moving into Valley Manor in April of 1979. He was a member of Carmel Reformed Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ted of Rock Valley, and John of Rugby, North Dakota; four daughters, Catherine Moerman of Tucson, Arizona, Edna Van Abbema of Rock Valley, and Nellie Vander Vliet and Mina Mouw, both of Sioux Center; two sisters, Minnie Van Berkum and Ettie Schoep, both of Rock Valley; 32 grandchildren , 49 great grand children and three great-greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, two sisters, and two grandchildren.
