Minnie Feenstra, 88, of Sioux Center, formerly of Sibley, died Tuesday, December 12, at the Sioux Center Nursing Home.

Funeral services were Saturday, December 16, at 11 A.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home in Sibley with Pastor Mike Harberts officiating. Burial was in the Holman Township Cemetery of Sibley.

Mrs. Feenstra, daughter of Gerrit and Nellie Vande Kieft, was born December 5, 1907, in Lebanon. She lived her youth in Steen, Minnesota, where she attended a country school. She later returned to Sioux County to live. She married Henry Feenstra on September 15, 1926. They farmed near Melvin and Ocheyedan and later moved to Sibley, where he worked in the area. She worked for the telephone company for 20 years and also at the Osceola Community Hospital of Sibley. He died in March 1975. She moved to the nursing home in Sioux Center in 1982.

She was a member of the Christian Reformed Church of Sibley and was active in the church when she was able.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Winifred and J. William “Bill” Smit of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Theora and Abe Fransen of Elk City, Oklahoma; one son, Gordon Feenstra of Iowa City; one daughter-in-law, May Feenstra of Sibley; two brothers, Wilbert and John Vande Kieft, both of Sioux Center; two sisters, Gertie Nyhof of Sioux Center and Mrs. Jake (Rena) Sinkey of Hawarden; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; son, Delbert; her parents and one brother, Will.
