Mr. Peter Feenstra, 89, died Wednesday at the Hillcrest Care Center at Hawarden, following a lingering illness.

Services were held Saturday, at 10:30 A.M. at the First Christian Reformed Church, Ireton. Rev. Bernard Fynaardt officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Ireton under the direction of the Van Gelder Funeral Home, Orange City.

Mr. Feenstra was born on November 2, 1894, at Maurice, the son of Dick and Thresa (Van Den Auker) Feenstra. He married Ida Moorlag on April 7, 1920, at Ireton. She died on September 23, 1976. Most of his life was spent farming in the Ireton area. He moved to the Pioneer Home in Orange City in November, 1978, and later moved to the Hillcrest Care Center at Hawarden in May, 1983.

He was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Ireton.

Survivors include three sons, Donald of Baylis, Illinois, Jerald of Ireton and Pierce of Norfolk, Nebraska; a sister, Mrs. Lucy Biemers of Sioux Center; a brother, Ted of Newburg, Oregon; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida; a daughter, Thelma; four sisters and three brothers.
